Sometimes it can be quite a daunting thought to make major changes within your home. Flooring most certainly falls within that. Whether it is because it may be a challenge to imagine what it will look like, or whether it is just the pressure; it can be a source of stress.
Wood floors in their more natural state can come in many different shades. Different wood types provide different alternatives. Many, many homes select a natural wood finish though for their floors. When we arrived to provide a quote for this wood floor in Formby, it had an incredibly dark wood finish. This was no longer wanted and did not suit the look of the room.
Why are dark floors a challenge?
Dark coatings on floors show dirt. There is no getting away from the fact that a dark floor shows as much dirt as a very light one. Dust and particles sit on the floor and are very clear to the naked eye. Even the most careful and savvy cleaner sometimes struggles to keep on top of this.
Floors with any dark finish can often mark quite badly. This is especially the case when the surface coating has deteriorated. No longer can it offer the protection against wear and tear and therefore can start to look unsightly.
Very dark floors are not to everyone’s taste. If you were looking to sell your home, then it may put someone off if they saw the dark floor. It is always advisable to make sure that your home is relatively neutral when considering selling it; so that the prospective buyers can easily imagine their belongings in the space.
Pine Floor Sanding
Our client was really dissatisfied with the overall appearance of their wood floor. The dark coating detracted from the other features in the room. They therefore selected a more natural wood finish for their restoration project. They were incredibly pleased with the results.
