We at Floor Sanding Lancashire choose to use only the state-of-the-art dustless sanding systems. We no longer use the outdated drum sanders (even though they may still be used by some floor sanders). Our sanding machinery uses a continuous belt machine that is virtually dust free. The extraction unit limits the dust created to virtually nothing. There are many benefits for this type of machinery.
Dustless Sanding Systems – Some Benefits:
A safer environment is achieved for both your family and us, the operatives. Traditional sanding systems created huge amounts of fine particles and dust. These microscopic particles can linger in the air and on surfaces for days. Achieving absolute minimal dust creation means this disruption is eliminated. Furthermore, it means that those suffering with allergies or asthma do not need to worry about the particles irritating their conditions.
Floor Sanding is a three-step process:
You will often hear of this being described as a process that uses finer grades of sandpaper as it progresses. Overall sanding is carried out with a coarse-grade sandpaper. This works to remove old finishes as well as imperfections such as dents and pits in the surface. Leading on from this, a medium-grade sandpaper is used in order to start the process to achieving a fine finish.
The step that achieves this is the use of a fine-grade paper. This works to remove the smallest imperfections and creates that beautifully smooth finish. It is really important that this process is completed in the correct way. Working down in grades means that you are able to remove what you want but leave what you need. It creates a finish that is suitable for a wood finish product. This offers a hard-wearing finish for the surface of your wood floor.
