What can commercial floor sanding do for your business? The Stirk House, Clitheroe is a beautiful 17th century Manor House. Originally built in 1635 using stonework from the dismantled Sawley Abbey, the building has an interesting and colourful history and still retains its old-world charm today. The building is steeped in history and offers incredible facilities for weddings, hotel rooms, a restaurant and business conferences.
Restoring Commercial Wood Floors:
We were invited to restore the wooden floor in one of their function rooms. The belt sander completed a huge majority of the sanding work. The edger sander (seen in the image) works around the outer edge of the floor in order to create a seamlessly sanded floor. Whether used as a dance floor or just regular use, the years of use had taken their toll on this floor.
Once again, the top layers of damage are removed. This includes old coatings. You can see from the images that the original wood floor was extremely dark. Our clients made it clear that they wanted a more natural wood finish. With the carpet being dark around the floor, we agreed that a lighter, natural finish would be better suited. It helped the floors natural tone stand out and our wood products brought out the grain pattern once again.
