Parquet floors have seen a real revival over recent years. They are elegantly timeless and offer reach character. Whether your parquet flooring is steeped in history or whether it is newer than that, we provide a service to sand and restore them. It is important to realise that sanding and restoring parquet floors carries more risk. Why is this? Parquet floors are as they appear, individual boards. The boards are not laid on matting or laid together. True parquet floors are individual boards, carefully and skilfully laid in a perfect pattern.
As they are individual boards, the likelihood is that over time they may come loose. If the board has come loose it may be damaged or even lost (in the worst-case scenario). This may have happened prior to the sanding process taking place. Or the sanding process can work the boards loose. Careful preparation has to happen prior to sanding any parquet floor to ensure this does not happen. If the boards are damaged or lost prior to the sanding process, we do offer a wood repair and replacement service. Some of our most incredible transformations have required extensive wood repairs in order to breathe new life into the floor.
